My Banded Living Journey™

How My Blog is Organized

I’ve started this blog in my fourth year since having Lap-Band surgery™.  Now that I am confident that I will be able to maintain my weight loss, I’ve decided to come out of the closet and blog my entire journey.  This is a “reverse blog” starting from the time I first began exploring weight loss surgery.

From this page you can go directly  to the topic you are interested in to see what has been posted.  So regardless of where you are in your own journey, I hope you can find something useful.  Good luck on your own journey.

Gloria:
I am having Lap Band surgery on Feb. 9th and watching your video gave me such inspiration. I want to be just like you. I will be reading your website daily from now on and hope that you can help me to succeed as you have. Thank you for sending me this website and suggesting what I should buy before the surgery (you answered a note I had posted on Obesityhelp.com). It is comforting to have someone share their ideas and feelings. By the way, you look absolutely fabulous!!!

Andy, Good luck tomorrow! I am so happy you found my blog helpful. When I had this surgery back in 2006, there weren’t that many people in the US to learn from. I was lucky to have a mentor to answer my questions, and hold my hand. Please come back and ask away…The post-op period can be challenging, a lot to learn, and as you heal, before your first fill you may feel “unbanded”. Your Banded Living community is here to help.

Gloria! This is fantastic! Dr. Billy suggested I check this out and Im SO glad I did! I had my band almost 3 years ago and lately I have slacked off. Reading your articles is very motivating and inspiring! It nice to know there is something out there for those of us who are “post-op” and can have a little support!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you so much, Gloria, for sharing your story. I’m like you in that I have told very few people (fearing failure, embarrassment, and what have you). But every time I look at your before I after picture I feel a little more powerful. I’m not one to put stock in “hope” – I believe it’s what you DO that counts, not what you wish for. So I’m actively involved in living a stronger, more empowered life so that I can be here to enjoy my grandchildren if my daughters ever get around to giving them to me! Thank you, thank you for your help!

Good Morning. I am so happy to have found you and Sandi’s websites. I am scheduled for lap band surgery on March 19th and I have been coming the internet looking for helpful suggestions. I was excited to learn that you are from Lexington, MA as I am only 20 minutes away.

I don’t see a lot of recent comments on your website. I really hope you are still actively blogging and answering emails.

I am very excited about my journey. I will definitely be coming back!

Diane
